Part of preparing for this project includes doing research and lots of it. I’ve been using mostly online sources. However, I have had several of the women I’ve spoken with recommend this book to me. And I will say it has been eye opening! Short blogs and essays simply don’t do justice to the importance of beer in the growth of civilization or women’s role in this industry. This book, “A Woman’s Place is in the Brewhouse” by Tara Nurin, is a comprehensive look at, not just women in beer, but an extensive history of craft beer itself.

The book presents an easy to follow timeline, from the origin of beer and agricultural civilizations, to the current craft beer industry.

The nerd in me wants to tell you all about it, but instead, I’ll tell you to read it for yourself! Look for more references to this book and several others in upcoming blogs!
